66 Tanzanians have denied their country's citizenship by year 2022/23

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Engineer Hamad Masauni yesterday presented to Parliament the Estimates of Income and Financial Expenditure for the Year 2023/2024 where one of the things he said in his speech is that until May, 2023, 66 Tanzanians denied Tanzanian citizenship and were given  citizenship of other countries.



The Tanzanians have been granted citizenship of other countries 2022/2023, including 

1. Canada (6), 

2. China (1), 

3. Spain (2), 

4. India (3), 

5. the United States (11), 

6. Namibia (1), 

7. New Zealand (2), 

8. Oman (12), 

9. Belgium  (1), 

10. England (2), 

11. Germany (23), 

12. Uganda (1) and 

13. the United Arab Emirates (1).


Thus, according to the Citizenship Act Chapter 357 Reference of 2002, all those who denied Tanzanian citizenship lose the right to continue being Tanzanians, during the same period of the year 2021/22, 40 Tanzanians denied Tanzanian Citizenship.
