CAF Sanctions Tanzania's Coach Amrouche: Team Faces AFCON 2023 Challenge without Head Coach

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has suspended the head coach of the Tanzania national team (Taifa Stars) Adel Amrouche from participating in eight matches due to disciplinary misconduct.
The statement from the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) stated that Amrouche was given the punishment for allegedly uttering divisive words that he was quoted as saying that Morocco has the power to do anything with CAF, including choosing referees and the time they want the match to be played. Tanzania suffered a 3-0 defeat against their rivals Morocco in AFCON 2023 tournament, where one of Tanzania's players also received a red card.
Amrouche’s statement was denied by the president of the Tanzania Football Federation TFF Wallace Karia who said that the statement was not the position of TFF but the personal position of the coach. According to this report, Tanzania will now play its second match of Group F in the TotalEnergoes AFCON 2023 against Zambia on Sunday, January 21 in San Pedro Ivory Coast without the presence of the head coach.
