Urges BRELA to strengthen online service delivery to improve efficiency

Morogoro
The Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade, Hon. Denis Londo (MP), has said the Government will continue to promote the use of technology in the workplace to improve service delivery and enhance operational efficiency.
Hon. Londo made the remarks while officially opening the BRELA Workers’ Council meeting held in Morogoro, where he commended the Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA) for the steps it has taken to improve its online service delivery system, known as BRELA Online Services (BOS).
He noted that the use of technology would contribute significantly to improved performance, increased efficiency and better service delivery to the public.
“I am pleased with BRELA’s progress in improving the BRELA Online Services (BOS) system, where five out of the seven modules are already operational. I urge the Agency to continue enhancing efficiency, reducing service delivery time and improving services for citizens and the business community,” said Hon. Londo.
He further called on BRELA to continue reviewing and improving various laws and regulations in collaboration with stakeholders, with the aim of creating a more favourable business environment and simplifying service delivery across the country.
He emphasised that the review process should involve stakeholders fully to reduce bureaucratic procedures, eliminate requirements that hinder business activities and strengthen regulatory compliance.
Speaking on behalf of the BRELA Board of Advisory of the Ministry, Mr. Elias Kalist said the Board recognised and appreciated the Agency’s efforts to strengthen the use of technology and improve service delivery.
“The Board continues to emphasise the importance of BRELA adopting digital systems, strengthening accountability and ensuring that the Agency contributes effectively to the implementation of Government plans aimed at promoting private sector growth and investment,” said Mr. Kalist.
Earlier, BRELA Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Godfrey Nyaisa, presented his remarks, stating that during the 2026/2027 financial year, the Agency would focus on implementing the BRELA Strategic Plan for 2026/2027–2030/2031, in line with Government priorities and the aspirations of Tanzania Development Vision 2050.
He explained that key priorities would include strengthening service delivery through electronic systems, completing improvements to the BOS platform, facilitating the issuance of Class B business licences in collaboration with the relevant authorities, and continuing to review various laws and regulations to improve the business and investment environment in the country.
The BRELA Workers’ Council meeting was held over three days, from 10 to 12 October 2026, in Morogoro. The meeting included training sessions on non-communicable diseases, stress management and mental health, as well as benefits, rights and responsibilities of members of the Public Service Social Security Fund (PSSSF).
The sessions aimed to enhance employees’ understanding of health, well-being and preparations for their future.
